1、通过图片和上下文理解故事内容，激活学生的已有知识和生活经验。

2、以话题为线索，通过整体感知语境，培养学生的阅读能力。

T：One day a snake meets a rat by the lake. The snake sees the rat and think. “I’m hungry. I want to eat something. The rat is my tasty food.

(This time, the snake is close to it.) .Something happens. What happens? Now let's learn the new story about the snake and the rat.

A.观看故事视频初步学读课文。

B.带着问题自学故事。

story.检查他们的答案是否正确。

1.出示图1，并提问

通过引导学生模仿蛇的语气读I’m hungry.提出问题：

T:Does the snake want to eat the rat? S:Yes, it does. T:What is the tasty food? S:The rat! 2.教师通过故事发展，过渡到图2。

出示图2时，先不出示田鼠说的话，引导学生思考：How does the snake/rat feel? 在如此危险的时刻What can the rat do?揭示田鼠被抓后对蛇所说的话，对田鼠的冷静表示肯定。

3.自然过渡到故事3、4、5幅图。

播放3、4、5幅图的插图和录音，回到问题What can the rat do? Can she swim? 概括前面的故事，

4.揭示书中第六幅图的故事结局。

Can the snake eat the rat? The rat swims away.补充板书The rat can sing, dance and swim. 同时对两种小动物的情绪再次进行对比。Is the snake silly? D.

一起回顾故事Finish the exercises 1.The snake isn't hungry .
