Analysis of

the students：

They have learned English for two years, so they have a good understanding of English. They are active and curious and interested in new things, and fond of games. They like learning English in a relaxing atmosphere.

Teaching key points：

1. Master the words “sing”，“song”，“kung fu”，“dance” and phrases “sing English songs”，“play the pipa”，“do kung fu”，“draw cartoons”。

2. Learn and use the sentence pattern “What can you do?”，“I /We can …”correctly

Teaching difficult points：

1. How to learn the new words and phrases 2. How to learn and use the sentence pattern “What can you do?”，“I /We can …”correctly

Teaching aids:

A computer, a projector, PPT and school things are needed as the teaching aids.

Teaching procedures: Step 1

Warm-up 1. Free talk T: Good morning, everyone. How are you today? Ss: Fine, thank you. And you? T: I’m fine, too. Are you ready for our class? Ss: Yes. 2. Warming-up practice T: Now let’s do some warming-up practice. All of you listen to me, please. Stand up and follow me. Run, I can run (read, dance, swim, fly, clean, draw …).

Step 2 Preview Learn the song “What can you do?”

T: You can jump, run, swim … You’re so great. Now let’s learn a song

called “What can you do?”.

The first time, all the students sing after the tape The second time , the whole class sing the song for boys and girls

Step 3（Presentation）

1. A. Let’s learn

(1) Learn the new words and phrases Create a situation “Have a party”：

T: Many stars and students are taking part in the party. If I am Amy，Let’s go to the party and meet some new friends. Let’s see “Who are they?

And what can they do?”

The teacher presents the pictures of Li Yuchun and Yang Mi in order.

And the new words and phrases：

2. A. Do a survey

(1) Group work

Discuss in groups of four, use the sentence pattern “What can you do?”

and “Who can …?” to do a survey.

(2) Ask 2 or 3 groups to report “What can you do?” and “Who can …?”.

Consolidation & Extension 1. The teacher does the actions, the students say out the words and phrases quickly.
