1.课程标准的相关要求

（1）能根据听到的词语识别或指认图。

（2）能在指认物体的前提下认读所学词语。

（3）能用英语做游戏并在游戏中用英语进行简单的交际。

2.教材分析

这是本单元的第二课时。“Let’s learn” 为词汇学习课，通过学习形容词类单词让学生进一步熟悉如何交流动物特征信息，“Let’s do” 为以上知识的应用。

3学情分析

三年级上册Unit4教材中学生已经学过动物类单词，而且，在本单元第一课时已经重点学过如何用句型“Look at ….It’s (so)+ adj.”来交流动物特征信息，本节课重在通过学习形容词类单词让学生进一步熟悉如何交流动物特征信息。

学习目标

1. 能够听、说、认读“tall”, “short”, “fat”, “thin”四个单词。

2. 能够在教师提供的语境中运用这些单词来交流动物特征信息。

3. 能够根据指令做动作。

学习重难点

1. 重点：能够听、说、认读单词“tall”, “short”, “fat”, “thin”。

2. 难点：“thin”的发音较难。

(此难点为预设难点，教师可根据班里实际情况调整) 学习评价

Teaching steps Step 1: Warm-up 1.Greetings.

Listen and sing the song “look look what can you see?” together

And then try to do and say once again. 3.lead-in T：There are some animals in the video. Do you like animals? S：Yes. T：Now Let’s go to the zoo together. OK? Today we will continue to learn Unit 3 At the zoo Step 2：Presentation 1.T：First I’d like to introduce you a new friend. Look and guess. Who is it? Yes, giraffe. Follow me three times. 2.Presentation “tall and short”

T：Look, there are two giraffes. Teacher shows the picture then say to students: T：Look at that giraffe. Wow, it’s …Yes, it’s tall. It’s so tall.（Teacher makes gestures and draws out the new word “tall”）Read after me three times. T：Look at this giraffe. It’s…Yes ,it’s short.（Teacher makes gestures and draws out the new word “short”）

Read after me three times. Students read after the teacher several times, then the teacher put the word cards on the blackboard. The teacher asks students to read the new words in some different ways. 3. Learn the new words “fat” “thin”

The teacher shows a picture with some monkeys and then say “Look at that monkey. It’s …Yes, it’s fat. Follow me three times”

Look at the picture. What animals can you see in the picture? Now let’s have a pairwork . You are A and your partner is B. Let’s make a conversation. Remember to use the words on the screen. You will have two minutes. Go. Step4:Games T: It’s time to play games. Here are three games for you.We will have a competition.You are Group 1.You are Group 2.You are Group 3.The group which win the game will get a star like this .Which group will be the best?Let’s begin. Round 1. Play bomb game.

Here are four new words for you.You should read after me once and loudly.But if I put the bomb in front of the word,You should be silent.If you don’t.the bomb will “boom”.Other students will do like this “one ,two,three,boom”

Round 2. Look and say

Show the picture to students，There are many animals at the zoo. Can you describe the animals at the zoo? Let students introduce the animals on the courseware according to the picture. The students who describe animals quickly and correctly using the sentence pattern will be the winner. And his group can get a star. Round 3. Let’ s do. (1)Play teaching recording，Students just listen and try

to do the action the first time. (2) Play teaching recording again，Students and the teacher say and do the action at the same time.

Game summary：The group which gets the most stars is the winner.

The animals are so lovely ,they are our good friends, So we should protect animals. Step 6: Summary

The teacher guides the students to sum up the vocabulary and the sentence patterns learned in this lesson. And then encourages students to ask questions. Step 7: Homework
