Teaching difficulties: Find the specific information by listening to the talk on goldfish. Teaching procedures Step 1 Pre-listening (a)Follow Peter to visit the pets hotel and guess what animals they are.

Look at the part of a picture and guess the animal.

Listen to the tape and guess the animal. (b)Discuss in pairs : Can you put a goldfish in the sun？

\Is a goldfish heavy?\Can you pick it up with your hands?... Step2 While-listening Task 1: Follow Peter to listen to a talk on goldfish and help him to check notes. Task 2: Help Peter finish the notes about goldfish. Task 3:Try to finish the dialogue with the information about the goldfish. Task4: Watch a video about a dog, then answer: Why does the dog leave home? Talk about how to look after parrots and rabbits. Listen to a dialogue about how to look after pets. What pets do they have? How do they look after their pets? Read after the tape. Step3: Post-listening (a)Work in pairs and make up a dialogue. (b)Complete an article according to the new words and phrases. Step4 Summary
