I. 写作指导：

本单元写作项目是Description,即“描述”，可以是描述事物、现象，发表个人评论。一般情况下，这类话题多以图画、图表类形式呈现，通过生动的图画或图表，生动、形象、逼真地描述事物，揭露社会现象。这类文章既有一定的限制，又能给作者相对宽松的发挥空间，属于半开放式作文，符合高考作文的出题要求。

这类作文要注意：写作内容常以描述和评论为主。一般分两个部分，其一对图中所提供现象的准确描述，其二个人的见解和观点。二者缺一不可。

II【范例】请根据下面提示，写一篇短文。词数不少于100词左右。

In your spoken English class, your teacher shows you the following picture. You are asked to describe the picture and explain how you understand it.

【考题基本分析】：

1. 三分之一描写要点：阳光，楼(很靠近)，弯曲的树。（the sun, two apartments/ flats closely-located, the winding/ twisted tree）

2. 三分之二议论着眼立意：

—— 1.人生角度：在成长的道路上（树的成长），有曲折，有困难，（建筑的阻挡，弯曲）但是只要向着光明和希望（太阳）去努力拼搏，坚持不懈，还是能够冲破桎梏取得成功（树在楼的夹缝中长高了，超出建筑）。

—— 2.和谐角度：

城市的发展（建筑）和环境的可持续发展（树的成长）要协调，要平衡，才能欣然共存（在阳光下）

3. 立意与现实生活关系：1. 引导90后要具有积极的生活态度，生活非一帆风顺的。2. 扣住低碳生活的环保热点，城市和环境的和谐发展也是低碳生活的必需。

【写作步骤】：

In this picture, a mother bird stays in her nest in a big tree, watching her babies flying away. I think the mother bird must be very proud of her children, who are able to find their own food now. But she may also feel a sense of loss since they no longer need her day-to day care as they used to. This picture shows very well the mixed feelings of parents when watching their children grow up. For my parents, things will be much easier. We will set up a family blog to post our photos, journals, and even audios. Once I leave for college, we can conveniently share our experiences and support each other no matter where we are. Their “nest” will never be empty.
