working in pairs. b.To foster Ss’s abilities of communication. 3)

a.To lead Ss comprehend culture in western countries. b.To foster Ss’consciousness of good cooperation. 2.

Teaching steps:

Step 1

Warm up 1.

Sing the song------The Spring 2.

Free talk between T and Ss about spring Step 2

Lead in 1)

T:” Which festivals are in spring?” Ss think over and say in free.

Lead in Easter. T:”Today we’ll learn an old festival.It’s also in

spring.It’s Easter.”

Step 3

Deal with the new festival 1)

Learn and practise celebrate. T show CAI.“Easter is in spring. We celebrate Easter in spring” Ss repeat the word and say the

sentence. 2)

Show CAI and say” Spring is here. Everything has new life.”

“The chick has new life.”. Then Ss learn to say “new life”. 3)

T show pictures, Ss learn to say Easter egg and bank.

T show CAI”At Easter,people give Easter eggs and cards to...”

“Banks ...”

4)

Say and understand symbol. T show CAI” The Great Wall is

the symbol of China .”

“What are these?”

“Eggs and...”

6)Play a game----Polly says , to practise these words. Step 4

Deal with the text and learn

Easter. 1)

Listen to the tape and answer two questions. 2)

Listen and read after the tape and answer three questions.

CAI:T show 5 Easter eggs, Ss chose.then describe the picture. Eg

:Banks and shops are closed at Easter. 5)

Ss describe the pictures in the group.

Choose some groups to say to check their speaking. 7)

Exercise: Fill in the blanks by themselves.
