1.掌握新单词wasn’t, weren't, clean, dirty. 2.会说句子They weren't old(tall/clean)then. /They were young (short/dirty). 二、教学重点：

学会使用“be”动词的过去式“was/wasn’t/were/weren't”表达过去的一般事情。

四、课前准备：

单词卡片、课文相关图片、课文录音、教学课件。

五、教学过程：

一、warming up: Present some pictures. Ask Ss to describe the pictures with comparing the present and the past. 二、presentation: ①Present some pictures of butterflies and worms.告诉学生蝴蝶的衍变过程。引导学生说出It wasn’t beautiful. They

weren't beautiful. ②Ask Ss to circle out “wasn’t, weren’t”, present the title “Module5 unit2 They were young. ” ③展示自学目标。

④Play the tape and have the Ss listen and find out the opposite adjectives and unknown words. ⑤Teach the new words “clean ,dirty”. ⑥Listen to the tape again, then get the Ss to look at the pictures and describe them . 三、Consolidation: ①Look at the pictures, fill in the blank and choose the true answers. ②Look at the pictures, compare “now and then”. Then describe them. 四、Homework: 五、Blackboard design: Module5 Unit2 They were young. wasn’t She wasn’t tall. weren’t They weren’t old. They were young.
