三、教学过程

StepⅠ. Warming- up and revision 1.

Greet the Ss.

2.

Let’s chant. 3. Review daily expressions. Teacher has some short conversations with some individual students first in order to review daily expressions, then interact with the whole class.

T: Hi, Linda. S: Hi, Ms. Huang. T: How are you? S: I am good. T: Great. Goodbye. S: Bye.

3. Put some real objects on the teacher's desk. (orange, ruler, pen, key, jacket, cup)

Ask Ss to answer the questions:

T: These are gifts for you. What's this in English?

Ss: It's an orange.

T: What's this in English?

Ss: It's a ruler.

(Ask about more Ss about other things.)

Ask the students to come to the stage to be little teacher to choose one picture/object and ask what’s this in English? Ss answer it’s a map. StepⅡ. Listening

1. Ss read the words of the objects (ruler、map、jacket、key、quilt、orange、pen、cup)together to review those words.

2. Teacher tells students they are going to hear the words of the objects, please listen and number the pictures.

3. 3a. Listen to the recording and number the pictures.

（For the first time, listen and number the pictures. For the second time, let's check the answers.）

4. 3b. Now let's listen to the recording again. And complete the words under the pictures in 3a.

(Ask a few students to check answers) 5.

Teacher points to a picture and asks what’s this in English.

Ss: This is a ruler.

T: Spell it, please.

Ss:

R-U-L-E-R.

Teacher asks some more students with those questions to check if students have mastered it.

StepⅢ. Group work 1. 3c. Teacher makes an example with three students. Students work in groups, 4 people a group, make conversation like that. A: What’s this in English?

B: It’s a map.

A: Spell it, please. B: M-A-P 2. Let some Ss act out the conversation.

StepⅣ. Listening 1.

Teacher holds an apple in hand, and asks what’s this in English. And Teacher puts the apple away, and asks what’s that in English. Teacher can take other objects and use this or can to ask questions , in order to make students understand the difference between this and that. 2. Tell Ss to look at the box in 3d. Then let some Ss read the words aloud. Make sure they know the meaning of every word.

____ ruler 2. Tell Ss that they will hear four conversations. They are about different objects. Listen to the conversations and number the words you hear. 3. Play the recording for the Ss to listen and number.

4.Students read the listening scripts together for consolidation. StepⅤ. Pair work 1. T: Look at the picture in 3e. This is Helen's room. Eric and Helen are talking about the objects in her room. What can you see in the room?

Ss: A map, a ruler, a pen, an orange, a quilt and a jacket. A: What’s that in English? (put on some pictures on the wall, teacher point to it and ask what’s that in English?) B: It’s an orange.

A: Spell it, please.

B: O-R-A-N-G-E. 2. Who can act out the conversation in the picture?

S1: What's that in English?

S2: It's an orange.

S1: Spell it, please.

S2: O-R-A-N-G-E.

3. Very good! Now work with your partner and ask and answer about the objects in Helen's room.

(Ss ask and answer about the objects in Helen's room.) StepVI. Summary 1.
