三、教学过程

Ⅰ. Warming- up and revision 1. Greet the Ss.

2. Sing an English song to review the letters Aa ~ Zz.

3. Play a game to distinguish “a” and “an”. 4. Show some pictures to ask Ss to answer the questions:

T: What's this in English?

Ss: It's a key.

T: What's that in English?

Ss: It's a ruler.

(Ask about more Ss about other things:orange, quilt, pen, map, jacket, cup)

5. Point to a map on the screen. Ask Ss: What's this in English?

Ss: It's a map.

Point to a picture of quilt. Ask Ss: What's that in English?

Ss: It's a quilt.

Then ask questions about them.

6. Let Ss ask and answer about the objects in pairs.

Ⅱ. Listening

1. Look at 3a and read out the name of the things.

2. Work on 3a. Listen and number the pictures.

3. Work on 3b. Now let's listen again. And complete the words under the pictures in 3a.

Ⅲ. Presentation 1.

Please look at 3c. What are they talking about? Please listen to the tape and complete the blanks.

Present “spell” and explain it.

5. Let some Ss act out the conversation.

Ⅳ. Listening 1. Let some Ss read the words aloud. Make sure they know the meaning of every word.

Tell Ss that they will hear four conversations. They are about different objects. Listen to the conversations and number the words you hear.

Ⅴ. Pair work 1. T: Look at the picture in 3e. This is Helen's room. Eric and Helen are talking about the objects in her room. What can you see in the room?

B: It’s an orange.

Who can act out the conversation in the picture?

3. Very good! Now work with your partner and ask and answer about the objects in Helen's room.
