Reading 1: Poems about pets Analysis of the teaching material: The teaching material covers two poems about pets. A poem is not only an efficient way to help the students to appreciate the beauty of English, but also a good approach to express rich emotions. While enjoying the features of poems, the students will have little difficulty understanding the two poems.

2) To master the expressions about strong love for pets 2. Ability objectives: 1) Through reading and paraphrasing, the students can understand the poems and appreciate some words and expressions.

3) Through writing, the students can create a new poem as the output based on what they have learned in this lesson. 4) Through discussion, the students can come to realize the importance of sharing and critical thinking. 3. Emotion objectives: 1) Through reading aloud, the students can enjoy the beauty of the poems. 2) Through appreciating the poems, the students can learn how to express love to pets. Anticipated problem Students may have difficulty creating a new poem by using all that they have learned. Possible solution Students are encouraged to make a card about an animal to save more time for creating a better poem. Teaching Procedures
