Students may find it difficult to grasp all the useful information if they only listen to the material once. 2. Students may find it difficult to conduct their own conversations. Teaching procedures: Activity One: Lead in Step One: Show a video about the class trip to raise the students’ interest. Step Two: Free talk:

1.What do you think of your class trip? 2.Where do you want to travel? 【设计意图：通过观看班级旅游视频，谈论旅游梦想之地，让学生迅速进入话题，并引出故宫，为了解故宫做好铺垫。】

Activity Two: Before listening

Step One: In order to learn more about Beijing, teach students to search for it on the Internet before travelling. Step Two:Show the website of the Palace Museum to let students know more about it. 1.Introduction Fill in the blanks according to the Chinese introduction. 2.Palaces Show students the map of the Palace Museum, and introduce five famous palaces. 3.Collections Show four pictures and learn new words and phrases: the golden throne, Chinese paintings, works of art. 4.Information Read the poster about the shows at the Palace Museum to get some information before listening. 【设计意图：教学生旅游前通过网络做好旅游攻略。在看故宫网站进一步了解故宫同时呈现新单词，给学生思考与探究的机会，为听力做好充足的准备。】

Activity Four: Speak up Step One: listen and answer Listen to Simon and Neil’s conversation and answer the questions

Activity Five: Discussion

How to be a good traveler? 1.

Show some pictures about bad behaviors around us. 2. Let students discussion what we can do and what we can’t do while visiting a place. 3.Stand up and promise together: I promise to be a good visit.

【设计意图：学生分组讨论旅游中的注意事项，反映现实旅游中破坏环境，随意丢弃垃圾、乱刻乱画等现象，将对旅游景点的保护引入课堂。利用讨论的形式，学生小组合作，几乎全班的同学在合作中享受着成就感，增加了每个同学合作、学习的兴趣和欲望。】
