本课选自PEP小学英语五年级上册Unit4的故事教学，旨在通过故事创设真实的情境，巩固本单元核心语料。本课时的故事主要讲述了蛇和老鼠的一次相遇，聪明的老鼠开动脑筋，骗过愚蠢的蛇，从蛇口逃生的经历，是孩子们感兴趣的话题。就语言知识而言，主要涉及I’m hungry./what can you do? I can……等句型。就情感态度价值观和方面而言，要培养学生遇事开动脑筋的好习惯。故事教学要突出“讲故事”，特别是要引导学生观察故事中的人、物、环境，通过师生互动的形式来理解故事。

Ⅱ、Teaching aims: 1、能听、说、认读新单词tasty, throw和新句型Here comes some tasty food. 2、能在生活中熟练运用句型“What can you do? I can…”和“Can you…? Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.”

3、能熟练朗读故事，并能在老师的指导下复述故事。

利用句型Don’t throw me into the lake.的学习延伸出Don’t throw rubbish on the ground.引导学生做一个讲文明的人，不要随手乱扔东西，学会关心妈妈，做一些力所能及的事。

T: Who can tell me the name of the cartoon? Ss: Tom and Jerry. T: Yes, you’re clever. (利用课件介绍)Tom is a cat. Jerry is a rat. Today we’ll learn a story about a rat, too. But the other one is not a cat. Do you want to know who is it? Oh, it’s a snake. Who can tell me“What’s the snake’s favourite food?”

Ss: Frog/ Rat. T: You’re right.

Step 3: Presentation (1)T: Today’s story is about a snake and a rat. The snake’s favourite food is the rat. So the rat is the tasty food for the snake.（利用课件图示直观展示）

Explain“tasty food”according to“delicious food”,and lead Ss to read the phrase. T: (PPT shows the picture of the snake) The snake is hungry. Here comes a rat. So I can say“Here comes some tasty food.”

Ask some Ss to read the sentence. Ask some Ss to read the sentence in picture 1. (2)T: Great! So the snake catch the rat. If you are the rat, what will you do? S1: I will cry. S2: I will say“Help! Help…”

S3: I will beg the snake. T: Wonderful! The rat is very afraid. Let’s look at what can the rat do?

Ask Ss to read picture 2. (3)T: If you are the rat, what can you do? Ask Ss to discuss and show their answers. T: Let’s look at what can the rat do? Read picture 3 and picture 4. (4)T: Do you think the snake will let the rat go? Ss: No. T: Yes. You are very clever. The snake will not let the rat go. What will the snake do? Read picture 5 and teach“throw…into…”(利用PPT展示乱扔垃圾的图片帮助学生理解throw.) Emotional teaching: Don’t throw rubbish on the ground. We should keep our city nice and clean . (5)T: The rat can’t swim. He asks the snake :“Don’t throw me into the lake, please.”But the snake is too bad. He throws the rat into the lake. He wants to drown the rat. But in fact, can the rat swim? Read picture 6. PPT shows some pictures to let Ss to know the rat can swim.

Ss can answer question 1 directly. Then ask Ss to read the story quickly and find the answer of question 2. (7)Play the video, and the Ss read after it. Step 4: Consolidation (1)T: When we meet dangers, we can fight a battle of wits and courage. The rat can do things for the snake. Because he wants to stop the snake to eat him. But in our daily life, we often do things for others because of love. For example, your mother’s birthday is coming. Let’s think what can you do for your mum. Divide Ss into different groups to discuss and write down the sentences. Then ask a student in each group to show their answers like this: T: What can you do for you mum? S1: I can …for my mum. What can you do? S2: I can …for my mum. What can you do? S3: I can …for my mum. What can you do? ……

(2)Ask Ss to make a picture book according to their answers . (3)Show a picture book made by other Ss. (4)Ask Ss to repeat the story according to the blackboard design. Step 5: Homework (1)Tell the story to your parents.
