2、能根据所学的词组和句型来描述interesting country。

Step1 Warming-up. 1. Greetings. 2. Free talk: T: Boys and girls, the summer holiday is coming soon. What are you

going to do? T: I’m going to visit an interesting country this summer holiday.

（揭题：An interesting country）

3. Let’s guess. T: It’s a big country in the south part of the Earth. It has many interesting animals. It also has a very famous opera house. People there speak English. Which country am I talking about? 引出Australia

4. Let’s talk. 引导学生谈论自己所了解的Australia。

Step 2 Presentation.

1、利用图片，教授目标词汇。

T:（呈现袋鼠与考拉图片）

Do you know these two animals? Ss: Yes. T: Where can we find them? Ss: In Australia. T: Right. This is a kangaroo. That is a koala. Ss: Kangaroo. Koala. T: （呈现澳式橄榄球图片）This is the most popular game in Australia, Australian football. Ss:

Australian football. T: （呈现悉尼歌剧院图片）Is this a beautiful building? Ss: Yes. T: It’s an opera house. It’s in Sydney, the biggest city of Australia.

Ss: Sydney.

2、问答活动，导入课文。

T: Do you want to know more about Australia? How will you find out it? T: （出示课文图片）How will they find out it? 教师播放课文左边一半，要求学生捕捉关键词，了解四个人查阅

信息的方式。

3. Ask and answer.

阅读课文右边一半，理解大意

教师安排学生独立阅读课文，并完成学生用书P60的练习。
