Module 3 Things we do Unit 7 Helping others

教学目标

知识与技能:能够听懂“帮忙找狗”的对话,理解并综合运用语用句型: What’s the matter? What does the dog look like? 询问事物的特点。

过程与方法:通过Look and learn的教学活动,在语境中能听说读写单词: bell, gatekeeper,复习前面所学同类词汇。

情感态度与价值观:乐于助人,并能体会帮助他人也是让自己快乐的途径。

学情分析: 六年级学生通过近四年的英语学习,他们已具备了基本的听说读写能力,对英语学习有自信心。本课时话题是他们感兴趣的话题,他们愿意用英语去表达并体验帮助别人的快乐。

教学重难点:

1. 能听说读写单词: bell, gatekeeper。

2. 句型复习:I can`t find my dog. I saw her half an hour ago. I`m going to ask the gatekeeper.

3.理解并综合运用语用句型: What’s the matter? What does the dog look like? 享受帮助他人的快乐。

教学用具:PPT,tape, word cards 教学过程: 第一课时 Step 1:Pre-task preparations 1.Chart.Learn the sounds. 2. Free talk. 3.T(show the picture of running men).Ss talk about it.Helping people is happiness.

Step 2:While-task procedures 1. T: Do you like helping people? Now please work in pairs and talk about yourself. 2.T(show the picture )Ss talk about it. 3.Try to answer these questions. 1)How many people are there in the dialogue?(Five) 2) Where are they?(They are in the park.) 3)What’s the matter with the boy?(He can’t find his dog.) 4.T: They didn’t find the dog.so they wrote a notice. If we help them write the notice, what should we know first?

Ss: We should know what the dog looks like.Let’s listen and choose.Teach bell ,neck. 5.Read the notice together. 6.T:Now Peter and Sally are going to ask for help. What are they going to do? Please listen and choose.Teach gatekeeper. 7.T: They are helpful/ friendly/ nice…Do you want to help the boy? Do you have any good ideas? 8.Read the text together. 9.Role play. 10.Fill in the blanks . 11.Retell in the groups.

Step 3:Post-task activities 1.(PPT)Tell Ss a true story . It’s about an American boy called Dorian. People around the world helped Dorain. They are warm and moved. 2.T:So more and more people like helping people. They are volunteers. In China, there are about 2.68 million volunteers. Because helping people is happiness! Roses given, fragrance in hand!

Homework: 1. Read the dialogue after the tape. 2. Recite the dialogue. 3. Act the dialogue out in groups.
