Get to know what an advertisement is. 

Know more about different kinds of advertisements 

Attach great importance to what is being conveyed in different public service advertisements. Difficult and Important Points 

How to get Ss to actively participate in different in-class activities. Teaching Procedures Step 1：Lead-in：

Question 1:Which product is being advertised? Answer: A razor. Question 2: Where can we hear or see an advertisement? Attention: On billboards/banners. Step 2: Read what’s on p1 and answer the following question.



What kind of advertisement is it? 

Picture 1& Picture 2: commercial advertisements 

Picture 3 &Picture 4: public service advertisements 

The first ad intends to persuade people to stop smoking. 

The second ad intends to remember never should we develop economy at the cost/ price of the environment. Step 4: Observe the four posters on Page 1 and try to divide them into two kinds. Step 5: What makes a good advertisement? Step 6: What are advantages and disadvantages of advertisements? Step 7: Homework Write a composition of advantages and disadvantages of advertisements.
