Brainstorming Ask students to have a brainstorm and then answer the following two questions:

1. Where can we find these ads?

2. Why do you like these ads?

Show some famous slogans and guess what they sell. Step 3

Observation Show more beautiful pictures about ads. Ask students to focus on the four advertisements on Page1. Encourage the students to form pairs and discuss the contents of each one and try to divide the four advertisements into two parts. Thus, encourage the students to pay attention to the functions of the commercial advertisements and public service advertisements. Step 4

Discussion and speaking 1. Show some pictures and design slogans for each pictures in groups.

2.Design and act 1). Design a commercial ad: try to sell a kind of thing to us. (a book, a pen, an ice cream… )

2). Design a PSA about our school life. (to protect grass, to save water, to respect teachers…)

Step 5

Homework

Ask students to look for more information about ads and make good preparations for the reading part. The students can surf the net if they have access to it.
