Show how to use “There be”

基本结构为“There be +某物(某人)+某地(某时)”。

常见的结构有两种:

There is +单数名词(不可数名词)+介词短语There are +复数名词+介词短语

Give Ss two examples of “There be”

sentence according to the picture. e.g. There is a book on the desk.

There are two pencils in the pencilcase.

Ask Ss to make sentences of “There be” sentence according to the picture. 5.

Then show a general question sentence: “Is there a book on the desk? ”, ask Ss what’s the difference between the general question
