Unit4 What can you do? Part C Story time

一、学习目标

1.通过阅读趣味故事，复习巩固本单元核心句型What can you do? Can you ...? 2.借助图片和图像，能够理解并模仿、表演故事，做到发音标准，语调正确。

3.能够借助板书提示词、或者在老师的帮助下复述故事，要能恰当提取并运用故事中的语言。

4.能够通过故事的趣味性，对其他英语故事阅读感兴趣，增加语言的输入。

二、学情分析

这是人教版2013版五年级上册第4单元C部分一篇有趣的小故事，学生已掌握有相关能力表达的基础，而这篇故事又与对话教学不同，特别生动有趣。老师应该想办法激活学生的表达欲望，猜测故事的结局，表达自己的想法，让语言从教材走向生活。

三、重点难点

重点：理解故事大意，用正确的语音语调朗读和表演故事。

难点：故事结尾的猜测和自己想法的表达。

四、学习过程

I.Warm up 1. Greeting. 2.

I say， you do.

教师说一些动作指令，学生根据指令做出相应动作，如：jump, read a book, play basketball, do kungfu , play the piano...

3. Free talk Show a photo of the teacher, and introduce it : I

can ....Have ss guess more things I can do by asking: Can you ...? What can you do ? II. Lead in Show the pictures of a rat and a snake. Guess what can it （引出课题。）

III.Presentation 1.

Get the main idea (引导感知) What happened with the rat and the snake? Watch the video to get the story.Then try to answer the following two questions: 1)Where are they?

2) What can the rat do?

2.Show picture 1 and ask:

(通过引导学生模仿蛇的语气并做动作读I’m hungry.提出问题：) T:Does the snake want to eat the rat? S:Yes, it does. T:What is the tasty food? S:The rat! Show different pictures to understand the meaning of the tasty food. (引导学生知道不同的动物享有不同的美食）

3.教师通过故事发展，过渡到图2。

Show Picture 2，have Ss think：How does the snake/rat feel? 在如此危险的时刻What can the rat do? 学生可以发挥想象畅所欲言，敢

于表达自己的想法。First，

the rat is very frightened, but after a while, she is very calm. She wants to go away . 揭示田鼠被抓后对蛇所说的话，对田鼠的冷静表示肯定。

Learn the meaning of wait a minute. Know the different expressions for times.Then have Ss come to match them.

（通过游戏来进行配对，让学生了解年月日小时分钟秒之间的对应关系）

Have Ss discuss：What can she do for the snake? 4.Introduce pictures 3、4、5 播放3、4、5幅图的插图和录音，回到问题What can the rat do? Can she swim? Have Ss answer it,then ask Ss, Can you sing? Can you dance?

5.Find out the ending of the story: Can the snake eat the rat? The rat swims away. 同时对两种小动物的情绪再次进行对比。Is the snake silly? Have Ss know the difference between lake and river. IV.Practice 1.Give the story right title(学生自读故事，给故事添加题目) Have Ss choose a correct title for the story. 2.Repeat the story and act it(有感情地跟读故事，并表演整个故事)。

教师引导学生根据动物情绪的变化、以及蛇的说话特点惊醒跟读模仿。

3.Retell the story 借助思维导图关键词复述故事。

4.Make a survey: Children’s day is coming. What can you do

for the Children’s day? Please

write yours and ask you friends. Try to fill in the blanks,then report it. V.Emotion education Which animal do you like? The rat or the snake? Why? Compare silly and smart。Lead Ss to be calm when you are in danger. Animals are our friends, we should protect them. VI. Homework 1.Try to act out the story or retell it. 2.Read another story and share it next class.
