教材分析
本课的教学内容是小学英语三年级下册Unit 3 A 部分的Let’s talk。教材通过Miss White带学生参观动物园的场景让学生感知句型的语义及语用情景。提供学生要学习的核心句型是It’s (so)…。本部分的教学目标是要求学生能够理解对话大意,能够用正确的语音语调朗读对话,并能够在图片和教师的帮助下,在语境中运用Look at that…It’s (so)…来交流图片上的动物特征信息。
二、学情分析
动物是孩子们感兴趣的话题,三年级的学生活泼好动,纯真可爱,他们善于模仿和表演动物。教学时可通过情境的创设,设计更多更有趣味性更具互动性的教学活动,通过体验、合作等方式,提高学生的学习兴趣,让学生在情境中参与活动,运用语言,让他们感受到学习英语的乐趣。
三、教学目标
1、能听懂、会说并认读句型:Look at that giraffe. Wow! It’s so tall! A bear! Ha! It’s short and fat! 学生能够理解对话大意,能够用正确的语音语调朗读对话,
2、能在语境中正确运用句型Look at that…It’s (so)…来交流动物特征。

giraffe的发音及对句型It’s so…的理解。

1.
Talk about the pictures in the classroom. T: Look at this classroom. It’s beautiful and there are many pictures here. You can see some animals. What animals do you see? I see a bear. What do you see? S: I see an elephant/ a panda/ a monkey/ a dog…

We are on the way to the zoo. T: So our classroom is like a zoo, right? Do you want to go to the zoo? So let’s go to the zoo. Ok?
(PPT shows a bus going to the zoo.)
T: Now we are on the bus. Let’s have some fun!
Let’s do: Be fat. Be fat. Be fat, fat, fat!
Be thin. Be thin. Be thin, thin, thin! Be tall. Be tall. Be tall, tall, tall! Be short. Be short. Be short, short, short! (The bus stops at the gate of the zoo.) T: Yeah, we are at the zoo. (Show the topic.)Follow me, at the zoo. Ss: At the zoo! Step2 Presentation and Practice 身临其境

Use a song to lead in. T: What’s in the zoo? Let’s listen to the song. Let’s be quiet. Listen and look “What’s in the zoo?”
Ss listen to the song. T: Ok, what’s in the zoo? S: A monkey/ giraffe. 2.
Learn the new word “giraffe”. Play a game to practice the new word: T draws a giraffe, Ss say the word. T: This is giraffe’s head. These are giraffe’s ears, and this is the giraffe’s long neck! This is its body. It has four long legs. It has two eyes. And it has a short tail.
T: A giraffe is in the zoo, what else in the zoo? S: A cat/ a rat. 3.
Shows a map of the zoo. It has 4 areas. Visit these 4 animals one by one. T: A monkey, giraffe, cat and rat… oh what’s that? Can you guess? S: Elephant/ panda/ bear? T: GOOD! It’s a bear. So which animal do you want to have a look? S: Bear/ giraffe/ cat…
(1)visit the cat
T: OK. Let’s go and see the cat first. Look at this cat. It’s…? S: It’s fat. T: Yes, I think it’s a little bit fat. It’s fat. Read it. And it’s…? S: It’s small/ short. T: Yes, it’s short and fat or we can say it’s small and fat. Now look at that cat! “this cat & that cat.” Read it! Look at that/ this cat.
T: Ok, look at that cat. It’s so big! “so”. It’s so fat!
Talk with your partner!
A: Look at that cat. B: It’s so big!/It’s so fat! (2)visit the bear T: So next, which one do you want to see? S: Bear. T: Ok, let’s see it! Look at that bear, it’s…?
S: It’s big/ fat. T: So we can say it’s big and fat.
Practice with you partner.
Let some Ss to show the dialogue: A: Look at that bear.
B: It’s big and fat. (3)visit the monkey T: Now which one do you want to have a look? S: Monkey. Work in pairs: A: Look at that monkey, it’s..? B: It’s thin/ small/ short. T: So it’s small and thin. Or it’s short and thin. (4)visit the giraffe T: Let’s go to see the giraffe. T: WOW, it’s tall. And children are so excited to see the giraffe. They are so happy! Look at this giraffe! Is it tall?
S: No. T: It’s not so tall. It’s a baby giraffe. Look at that baby giraffe.
It’s..?
S: It’s short. T: This is the mother giraffe. Look at that mother giraffe.
It’s..? S: It’s tall. T: Look at that father giraffe.
It’s...? S: It’s so tall! T: You can choose one giraffe. Practice it with you partners. Let some Ss to show the dialogue: A: Look at that baby giraffe/ mother giraffe/ father giraffe. B: It’s short/ tall/ so tall! Step3 Consolidation and Extension 境中延伸
拓展提升
1.
Talk about some other animals at the zoo. T: We can see the cat, bear, monkey and giraffe at the zoo. Are there any other animals at the zoo? Present lots of pictures of others animals. Ss look and say: A tiger/ pig/panda/rabbit…
T: Ok, let’s talk about these animals. You can choose one to talk about it with you partner. A: Look at that …. B: It’s (so) … Look at that …. A: It’s (so) …

To learn “Let’s talk”. T: Look, Miss White and the children, they are at the zoo. What are they talking about? Watch the video. T: Haha, it’s funny. Let’s open our English book. Turn to Page 24. Read after it.

Practice it in groups. Act it out. 3.
To show “your animal”. T: The children love the animals very much! They draw the animals. And we drew our
animals, too. Take out your paper and show “your animal”, please. The teacher gives an example first.

We have a happy day at the zoo. It’s time to go back to school. Let’s say goodbye to the zoo. We are on the bus. Let’s sing the song loudly! Ss sing the song and go back to their classroom, pretending they’re on the bus. Homework 1.
