What’s this in English?

教材分析：

Starter Unit 2是Go for it! 三个预备单元中的第二个单元。它生动有趣，为下一步的教学做了很好的铺垫，它的主要内容为26个英文字母和最基本的英语日常用语。本单元的教学内容为Ii-Rr 10个字母，ruler、map、quilt、jacket、key等7个单词。辨认物品What is this in English? 及其回答，并且注意培养学生的听说能力。

教学目标：

一、知识与技能

1. Master the new words.

2. 熟练运用句型What’s this in English? It’s a/an ... 进行对话。

3. Develop the ability of making a conversation.

4. Master the use of the pronunciation of the four vowel letters. 二、过程与方法

通过闪现等活动，锻炼学生反应能力和注意力集中程度，充分利用小组活动。

三、情感态度与价值观

培养合作精神和练好语音语调习惯。

教学重点：

教学准备：

1. PPT。

2. 练习上节课对话。

教学过程：

Step 1: Greetings

Greet the students as usual. Step 2: Warming up

1. Ask the students to show their letter cards. The teacher speak highly of the students.

2. Sing a song: What’s this?

3. Game: Find out the letters.

The teacher shows the letters very quickly and get the students to

call out the letters they see.

4. Group work

The students prepare in four groups, draw some pictures and get the others to guess what letters they are. Step3: 3a-3e

1. Let the students listen and number the pictures.

2. Get the students to complete the words under the pictures 3. Play the tape for the students. If they can’t get the answers, play twice.

4. Check the answers.

5. Play the tape again and ask the students to practice it with their partners.

6. Have two pairs go to the blackboard to show their dialogues. 7. Ask the students to listen to the tape again. Then number the words they hear.

8. Talk about the picture by using “What’s this in English? It’s a/an ...”

The teacher is ready to offer his/her help to those students who are in need of it.

9. Ask some demonstration groups to show their dialogues before the whole class.

Step 4: Exhibition

The students work in groups, draw pictures of their rooms and talk

about the pictures by using What’s this in English? It’s a/an ...

Step 5: Report

Ask some demonstration groups to show their pictures before the whole class.

They may do like this: This is my room. What’s this in English? It’s a/an ...4d: Consolidation

Ask the students to read the letters and words.

Then try to read the new words in column 2. Step 6: Homework Review the contents of 4a-4d. 教学反思：

本节课，我通过小组合作法，讨论法等教学方法完成本课教学任务，通过游戏等活动，培养学生灵活运用语言知识和勇于创新的能力。本节课，学生学习的积极性较高，课堂气氛比较活跃，学生在完成各项任务的过程中，既训练并掌握了本课的重点知识，又培养了学生的口语交际能力。但同时，在进行小组擂台赛的过程中，学困生表现得不够积极主动。因此，在今后的教学过程中，我应注意照顾学生的个别差异性，照顾学困生，多给他们鼓励，从而使课堂真正达到全员参与，全员互动的效果。
