[Teaching procedures and ways] Step I Revision Show the poster of the movie Hero．

T：What kind of movie is it? It is an action movie. And it's very excting．

T：Do you know who are in the movie? T：Very good．Do you like the movie? T：Why do you like it?

(Because it’s exciting) Ask students to take out their posters which are to1d too bring here yesterday．

****Ask some students to talk about their posters to the class．

Step II Vocabulary(1&2 on P58) Check the words．

T：In learning to talk about the movies，you have learned many words on the topic．Now read the words In activity 1 and check the words you know on page 57．

Ask students to add five new words to their vocabulary list．

western，musical，martial art，horror movie，war movie Ask students、to share the words with each other．If they don’t understand some of the words，ask them to look them up in the dictionary．

Step III Reading and writing(3 on P58) In this procedure，students will read the pictures and then write a few sentences to describe the two pictures．

What call you see in the pictures?From the picture，what kind of movies do you think they like?What are the two characters like?

Write a few sentences to describe each picture．

Ask some students to read their description to the class．

Step IV Homework Ask students to 1．Remember the key words．

[Teaching resources] To many people，the word Hollywood has two meanings. Hollywood is an area in Los Angeles．Hollywood is also the American movie industry．Hollywood was j ust farmland at the beginning of the 20th century．Early American movies were made in other places；for example，in New York and Chicago．In 1917 a director was making a movie Chicago．Because of cold weather，he couldn't finish the movie．He took a trip to southern Califonia．And there he found j ust the weather and scenery he needed to finish his movie．The director realized that southern Califomia was the perfect place for many movies•The next year his company built a movie studio(摄影棚，摄影场)in Hollywood．Other companles followed．Before long nearly all important American movie studios were in H011ywOod．The next thirty years were Hollywood’s greatest years• Thousands of movies were make.
