Reading---Journey Down The Mekong 教案

Teaching aim: Enable students to improve their listening skills and reading ability. Enable students to finish comprehension exercise after reading the text. Enable students to learn how to talk about the plan to go on a trip.

Teaching important points: a. Find out the main idea and the outline of the passage. b. Sum up the whole passage with your own words.

Teaching difficult points: a. Understand the development of the whole story about the Journey Down The Mekong b. Role play the conversations between Wang Kun and his sister. c. Discuss how to prepare for a trip.

Teaching procedure: a.

Warming-up Introduce some of the famous rivers in China. b.

Pre-reading Watch a video about a trip to Mekong River. c.

Reading Skim the passage and find out the outline of the passage. Carefully read the passage and finish the role play and comprehension exercise. Sum up the passage and fill in the blanks with post-reading exercise. d.

Discussion To discuss how to prepare for a trip to somewhere. e.

Ending To sing a song named Mekong River Delta. f. Assign homework
