Lesson 1 Teaching contents: Read aloud & P34

Teaching aims: 1.

The students can master the dialogue in the part “Read aloud”.

Review the words of Unit 1-3.

Teaching key points:

In this lesson, the Ss are supposed to master the dialogues in “Read aloud”, which are also the key sentences for Unit 1 to 3.

Teaching difficult points: The sentence: I like sports. Let’s play.

Teaching preparation:：

Tape, headwear and PPT.

Teaching process: 1. Warm-up & Revision (1)Greeting with Ss. Say “Hello!/How are you?” to Ss. (2)Clapping the words：review the words in Unit 1-3. T: How to play the game about “Clapping the words”? Listen please. Clap your hands and say the word. Clap your knee and keep quiet. (T puts the word cards on the blackboard, Ss clap hands and say the first word, clap the knees and keep quiet, then clap the hands and say the second word.) (3)Group the words. T: Wonderful! You can read so many words. Can you group the words? Team 1 will find the words of counties. Team 2 will find the words of families.

Team 3 will find the words of adjectives. Team 4 will find the other words.

2. Presentation (1)T shows the picture of “Read aloud”

and asks “What can you see? Where are they? What are they doing?”

Reviw the sentence structures: How are you? I’m fine, thank you. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you, too. (2)T points to John and say “Who’s that boy?”

Ss: He’s John. T points to the tall girl and say “We have a new friend today. Who’s that girl? Why is she so tall? Where is John from? Read and video and answer the question.”

T plays the CAI of “Read aloud”. (3) T: The girl is Wang Tong. Why is she so tall? Because she likes sports.

So sports is good for us, it can make us tall and strong. (4)Read the dialogue after the tape. (5)Act out the dialogue.

Practice (1)T shows the picture of P34 and says: “Look! Sarah is singing. Her family and her friends are watching. Who can you see in the picture? (T

points to the people in the picture) Who’s that man/ woman/…? Who is not here?” Let the Ss to talk in pairs. (2)Look and tick. Finish the exercises in Look and tick. (3)

Finish the exercise on the Activity Books.

4. Homework

(1) Listen and read the dialogue three times after the tape. (2) Preview the new lesson on P 33.
