(1)Let students try to do something new. “You never know what you can do until you try!”

(2)Learn to cooperate with others and communicate with their partners.

(3)Learning by playing and doing.

1. Students can pronounce the new words clearly.

2. Students can use these sentences:Sam had (lots of chocolate) yesterday.

So today he’s got a (stomachache\headache\fever…) to talk with others in daily life.

Step 1 Warm-up

1.Sing a song“Head shoulders knees and toes ”and do the actions.

2.Have a game: Listen and mime (tell the Ss that I’m going to say some words and they have to mime different kinds of aches accordingly.) T: You are clever. But, do you know another parts of your body?

Get the students to show a picture of a human body and label the following body parts: stomach \ head \ back\ tooth…

Tell the students that these body parts may ach sometimes .e.g.stomach ache \ head ache \ back ache \ tooth ache…

Step 2 Presentation and leading

T: Who can tell me what happen to Daming in last Unit.

Ss: Daming’s head was bumped.

T: ok! Writes the word “today”on the blackboard. What happened to Daming, Sam, Amy and Ling ling?

Step 3 Text Teaching

T: Now, this class we are going to learn Module 10 Unit 2 Sam had lots of chocolate .First, listen to the tape and answer to my questions:

What’s wrong with Sam, Daming, Amy and Lingling today? Ss: Today Sam has got a stomachache.

Daming has got a stomachache.

Amy has got a head ache.

Lingling has got a fever.

T: Ok, great! Let’s listen again and answer to other questions

What happened to them yesterday? And what’s wrong with them today? Ss: Sam had chocolate yesterday. So,today he has got a stomachache.

Daming had two watermelons yesterday.Today he has got a stomachache.

Amy had a cold yesterday. Today she has got a headache.

Lingling had a headache yesterday.Today she has got a fever.

Not bad! Everybody follow me read the sentences again.

Step 4 Task-Fulfilling(Give every group two minutes to discuss and then two students come to front act out in turns)

Role play (I’m a doctor)

Doctor: what’s wrong with you?

Patient: I’ve got a(stomachache \headache\ foot ache\toothache…and so on).

Doctor: What did you have yesterday?

Patient: I had lots of apples yesterday.

I had a cold yesterday.

I bumped my foot yesterday.

And so on…

Step 5 Extension: What they do when they are sick?

1 .Go to bed.

2. Take some medicine.

3. Go to the doctor.

And. . . .

Step 6 Homework

1. Practice the role play with your partner.

2. Read these words again (stomach ache\ headache\ fever…).
