一、教材分析

本次课的内容是PEP五年级上Unit4 What can you do? C 部分的Story time。这是本单元的最后一部分内容----趣味故事。这部分呈现的故事内容是田鼠如何机制地摆脱被蛇吃掉的厄运，在紧张的故事情节发展中复习巩固本单元核心词汇sing, dance and swim等，以及复习句型What can you do?—I can…；

Can you …?及其答语。在故事情境中让学生理解文本中的拓展词汇，tasty food, throw等。

二、学情分析

五年级学生基本上具备了听、说简单英语的能力，多数学生已养成良好的书写习惯。由于小学生年龄特点，他们都喜欢听读故事，因此，要更注重学生英语阅读兴趣的激发，培养其提取关键信息的能力，以及一些阅读策略的能力。

三、教学目标

1、知识目标

（1）通过阅读趣味故事，正确运用“What can you do? I can …; Can you …? Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.”本单元这些核心句型。

（2）理解会读tasty food, throw…into…, silly, lake等词和词组。

2、能力目标

（1）能在图片的帮助下读懂故事，理解故事内容；

（2）能完成相应的听、说、读、演等任务。

（3）能体验故事背后蛇和田鼠的内心情感及变化过程。

（4）在阅读故事过程中，初步学会根据上下文和图片理解生词，体验情感并能有效提取相关信息，训练归纳能力。

3、情感目标

（1）理解并体验蛇及田鼠的内心情感；

（2）面对困难，要保持冷静、机智。

五、教学重点

（1）能灵活运用“What can you do? I can…; Can you…? Yes, I can./ No, I can’t.”。

（2）能读懂本课故事内容，获取关键信息，同时掌握一定的阅读策略。

（3）能在教师引导下，复述故事，用正确的语音语调表演故事。

六、教学难点

在语境中对tasty food, throw…into…, silly, lake等词的理解，复述表演故事。

Step1 1. Greeting Greeting and Greet to each other. warm-up 2. Say a chant with the students and clap hands.

Step2 Presentation and practice 1. Lead-in What can the dog do? (Teacher points at the chant and ask.)

T：What can you do? / Can you …? T: So do I. I also can tell stories. Do you want to listen? 2.Begin to show the pictures and tell the story: There is a rat. He lives with his mum in a forest. He loves his mum very much. But, one day, his mum is ill. The rat wants to make his mum happy. So he goes out to pick some flowers for his mum. Suddenly, an animal is coming. Listen!

3. What is it?

Teach the word----snake. Then what will happen?

4. Fast reading

Let the students read picture 1 with the two questions. Check their answers. 5. Read the story from picture2 to picture6. Underline the key words for the two questions. 学生活动

简单的问候、交谈，拉近师生间距离，热身活动在巩固知识同时营造活跃课堂气氛。

用chant中的信息进行提问，顺势导入本课的故事。

创编小故事开头吸引学生的注意力，并激发他们的想象力。

听蛇声猜测是什么动物？为了引出蛇这个角色，以及学习认识snake。

默读，锻炼阅读寻读能力。

Step3 Consolidation and extension 1. Think and discuss

Which animal do you like, the rat or the snake?

2. Retell the story with your group members.

3. Take out your exercise paper and finish the work. Read it silently.

4. Emotion education The two stories tell us….

5. Homework (1) Retell the story in English. (2) The rat swims away, then what will happen next? Create a new ending for the story. Think and discuss in groups. And then show their answers.
