Teaching aims and learning objectives:

By the end of the lesson, the students would be able to:

1.understand the text and find out what Anna is going to do at Chinese New Year through watching the video and reading.

2. get to know the me aning of “Hong Kong, tangyuan, Chinese New Year’s Eve, Chinese New Year’s Day, red packet, lion dance, fireworks, firecracker”and pronounce them clearly;

3. use structures “I’m / We’re going to…”to talk about our plans for Chinese New Year;

4. get to know something about Chinese New Year and introduce it to others.

1. Understanding the passage as a whole;

2. Talking about the plans for Chinese New Year in Hong Kong and Zhenjiang.
