Analysis of teaching material: This teaching period mainly deals with the grammar item: noun clauses. Noun cluases are the de pendent clauses that serve as nouns in particular sentences. In this lesson, we mainly deal with the usage of conjunctions as that &what, whether & if. Knowledge aims: 1. To get the students to know the different typles of noun clauses. 2. To let the students learn the usages of conjunctions as that &what, whether & if. 3. To enable thestudents to use the noun clauses correctly and properly. Emotion ,attitude and value 1. To get the students to become interested in grammar learning 2. To develop the students’ ability of comparing and summarizing Teaching key and difficult points: 1. The choice of conjunctions, especially the usage of that&what, whether&if. 2. The word order in noun clauses.

引导词选择总原则：

看从句中缺少什么成分，根据意思选择适当连接词语；如不缺成分且句意完整，则选用that.

总结：名词性从句引导词选择的三个步骤

步骤一：如果从句中缺少主语，宾语，或者表语，则考虑用连接代词What,who ,which ,whose ,whatever

•

步骤二：如果从句中既不缺少主语，宾语，也不缺少表语，但是缺少一定意义的状语，则考虑用连接副词；where, when, why, how…

•

步骤三：如果既不缺少主语，宾语，表语，也不缺少状语，则考虑用从属连词。that, whether, if

that 和

what 都可引导所有的名词从句。但是，what除起连接作用外，还在名词性从句中充当成分，可做从句的主语、宾语、或表语。

而that在名词性从句中不充当任何成分，只起连接作用。

2.whether和if的选用
