教学内容分析: 本单元是选修八的第五单元，本单元的话题是“拜见你的祖先”，内容涉及“周口店遗址的北京猿人”，“早期人类生活方式”等。本节课时内容主要学生在学完第一课时的阅读后，对一些单词和短语的学习、巩固和应用。

三维教学目标：

本节课的教学活动主要采用小组合作的方式，激发学生的合作意识和团队精神。

Teaching aids: A projector and other normal teaching tools. Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Warming Up (lead-in)

1.Greetings.

2.Play a guessing-words game. Ask students to guess the true word according to

its meaning, then spell it and speak out its Chinese meaning. The intention is to

review the important words. (1)offer a possible choice; can be used instead;(alternative) (2)suffering or death caused by lack of food;(starvation) (3)be caught by the police ; attract(arrest) (4)the importance of an event or action...(significance) (5)a simple way of life that existed in the past; not modern(primitive) (6)to think sth.is true , although you don't have enough fact(assume) 设计意图:以猜词游戏活动的形式复习重点单词。

Step 2: Presentation——Review the important phrases; and read together

regardless of；on behalf of；be fed up with ；date back to；

look ahead；be of great significance；show sb around sp 设计意图：以问答形式引出本节课重点要讲解的内容。

Step3: Word study The teacher explains the important words and phrases, and then ask students to read and make up a sentence using what they have learnt in this period, and then translateeach other’s sentences. For example:be of great significance,regardless of ,date back to. 设计意图：强化学生对单词的掌握和记忆

无进行时态，无被动语态；做后置定语时，常用v-ing形式；通常与过去的时间状语连用，但多用于一般现在时。

Step 4 Discuss and finish this cloze.

Get the students to discuss in groups. Then ask them to report their work and pay attention to the right form. 设计意图：结合语篇，巩固学生对单词短语的学习及应用
