3. How many floors do the buildings have? 4. What does Simon have around his neighbourhood?

教学过程：

（一）感情先行，明确目标

1. Get students to learn some new words：

neighbour, will, visitor, like, neighbourhood, waiter 2. Ask each other the following questions to talk about their living conditions.

Where do you live? What’s around your home? Is your home near a park? Is there a hospital near your home? Who lives next to your flat? Who lives above you? What’s your neighbour’s name? What does he do? （二）习题为例，探寻规律

1. Encourage Ss to talk about their neighbours and neighbourhood. 2.

Get Ss to finish Part A and make up a dialogue.

eg. Who’s your neighbour?

…is my neighbour.

What’s your neighbour?

He/ She’s …

Where does he/ she work?

He / She works in…

3. Get Ss to listen to part B and answer some questions.

（三）、变式训练，感悟验证

1. Get Ss to read Part B aloud and make up similar dialogues using part B as a model. 2. Encourage Students to describe their living conditions using their own words. 3. Get Ss to act out their dialogues in front of the class. 4. Ask Ss some questions:

Do you often play with your neighbours? Do you like visiting them?

What do you think of your neighbours? 5. Get Ss to listen to Comic Strips and answer:

1) Hobo is in a hurry. Where’s he going?

2) What does Eddie do when he visits his neighbours?

6. Get Ss to act out the dialogue.

7. Discuss:

1) Do you think Eddie’s new neighbours welcome him?

2) Why or why not?

3) If you have neighbour like Eddie, do you welcome him?

4) What can you do for your neighbours? 8. Get Ss to think about how to serve others and to develop their responsibilities.
