Unit 7 How much are these socks? The Second Period Section A (Grammar Focus-3c) Ⅰ.Teaching aims:

IV.Teaching process Step 1 Warming up and Revision 1.The teacher shows the students some pictures about different clothes.Let the students tell what it is one by one.（此环节可以老师随机挑选一组成员，也可让学生自由抢答）

2.Practice the dialogue in pairs. —How much is this...? —It’s ... dollars. —How much are these/those ...? —They’re ... dollars. Step 2 Grammar Focus 1.Show students a skirt and ask “How much is it?”.Let students answer “It’s ... dollars”. 2.Show students a pair of socks and ask “How much are these socks?”. Let students answer

“They’re ... dollars”. 3.Explain the differences between the two dialogues.Let the students read the Grammar Focus and practice the sentences in pairs. Step 3 Practice(Work on 3a) 1.Let students make some sentences by using the words on the right.Pay attention to the usage of singular forms and plural forms of the nouns. 2.Choose some pairs to read the dialogues in front of the class. 3.Let students talk about the changing rules. （1）the/this/that+表示颜色的形容词+单数可数名词，用how much is...提问，用It’s ...回答。

一、How much引导的特殊疑问句

how much引导的特殊疑问句，可以用来询问商品的价格，意为“多少钱”，其结构为：“How much +be动词+其他.”。如果询问的是单个商品，be动词用is，如果询问多个商品，be动词

用are。

—How much is the sweater?这件毛衣多少钱？—It’s five dollars.5美元。

—How much are these socks?这些袜子多少钱？

—They’re three dollars.3美元。【拓展】（1）how much除了可以询问价格以外，还可以询问物品的数量，意为“多少”，后

接不可数名词。

（2）how many“多少”+可数名词复数

How much milk do you want?你要多少牛奶？

How many books do you need?你需要几本书？

二、形容词的基本用法

形容词是表示人或事物的性质、特征的一类词。如big，white，interesting，difficult等。在

句中一般作定语和表语。

1.形容词作定语

定语是修饰、限定某一名词或代词的部分。形容词作定语，一般用在某个名词或代词之前，

起到修饰、限定该名词的作用。

I want to buy a green skirt.我想买一条绿色的短裙。

2.形容词作表语

表语是句中放在be动词及sound等连系动词后的部分，起到陈述主语性质、特征的作用。

形容词作表语同样放在句中be动词及sound等连系动词之后。

The story sounds interesting.这个故事听起来很有趣。

形容词在句中作定语或作表语是形容词最基本的用法。
