Step 2: Film appreciation Film clips 1-2: 1. Who are the main characters in this film? 2. What makes them go to Iceland? Film clip 3: 3. Who else is the main character? 4. What role does she play in this journey? Film clip 4: 5. What do they find? 6. What happens to them? Film clip 5: 7. Where are they now? 8. How do they come here? Film clips 6-7: 9. What do they see? Film clip 8: 10. What do they do? 11. What do they plan to do? Film clip 9: 12. What do they see? 13. What do they do in order to avoid danger? Film clip 10: 14. How do they finally get out of the hole? 15. Where are they now?

Step 3: Discussion After appreciating the plot of the film, can you summarize the features of a science fiction story?

Step 4: Homework Read the plot of the original story on page 58 and compare it with the film we saw in this class.
