Background information:

Analysis of teaching material: The topic from new standard of English of primary school Grade 5 Book 1 Unit4 What can you do? In this unit, Pupil can learn to do sth for themselves . Analysis of Pupil: There are 35 students from the first-year of primary school in Xiawan. Almost students are 10 - 12 years old, and they come from countryside. At this age, they are lack of independence, but most they are lovely, active and carious about everything .They have leaned some easy words and sentences of English.

Lesson duration:40’

Teaching objectives:

By the end of this class, pupils will be able to:1. master the new words and expression: sing, song, kung fu, dance sing English songs, play the pipa, do kung fu , draw cartoons, “What can you do?—I can…”

2. present the listening result confidently and fluently to the other students.

3.use the target language to do sth for themselves.

Stage1. Lead in: ( 5’) Greeting .

Step 1: Free talking

T: Hello, everyone. Welcome back to school. How are you today? Ss: Fine, thank you. And you?

T: I’m fine, too. Are you ready for our class?

Ss: Yes.

Step 2:

T: Now let’s do some warming-up practice. All of you, listen to me, please. Stand up and follow me. Run, I can run

(read, jump, swim, fly, clean, draw ).

T: You can jump, run, swim ? You’re so great.

Stage 2:Presentation and drills (15’)

Step1: Let’s learn some words. sing, song, kung fu, dance, sing English songs, play the pipa, do kung fu , draw cartoons(By the word cards and pictures)

Step2: Ss read the new words group by group, one by one.

Step3: Play a game. T reads the words,and Ss do actions.

Step4: Make up a dialogue
