Teaching aims and learning objectives:

1.To enjoy the beauty and fun by reading the fairy tales. 2.To develop the students’imagination and creativity by prediction.

3.To involve in the roles of the story and inspire the students’ interest of reading fairy tales.

Focus of the lesson and predicted areas of difficulties:

1.To understand the story—Down the rabbit hole by skimming and scanning. 2.To develop the students’imagination and creativity. 3.To inspire the students’interest of reading fairy tales.

Teaching procedures:

Step1.Warm up Activity1: Enjoy a video and tell me where did she go?. Step2.Skimming Activity1: Read the story quickly and silently, then answer the questions. Activity 2:Read again,divide it into three parts and match the meanings. Step3. Scanning Para1-2: Activity1:Read and fill in the blanks. Activity2:Prediction based on the picture:What was special about the rabbit? Activity3:Complete the passage about Para1-2. Para3: Activity1:What did Alice do after seeing the amazing rabbit? Activity2:What kind of girl was Alice? Activity3:Put the sentences into the right order. 1

Activity4:Pair work: If you are Alice, will you jump down the hole or not?And why? Para4-5: Activity1:Read Line 9-10 and answer the questions. Activity2:Read Line 10-16 and find out the problems that Alice had in the hall. Activity3:Read again and find out the solutions(解决办法). Activity4: Imagine:If you are Millie, how will you go through the door? Step4:Post reading Activity1:Retell the story according the given phrases. Activity2:Imagine:What was her Wonderland like?
