On Saturday morning, we visited the Forbidden City. Tom was amazed at this splendid palace and took a great many pictures. Later in the afternoon, we went to Laoshe Teahouse to enjoy Beijing Opera. Although Tom didn’t understand the language, he showed great interest in it.

To let Tom experience the unique Hutong culture, we had a Hutong tour on Sunday morning. Sitting in the pedicab for the first time, Tom got really excited. He was also very curious about the life of the people there, so we visited a family and were luckily invited to have lunch with them. After the delicious meal, we went shopping in Silk Street. There Tom bought many gifts and we left with great satisfaction. Later Tom told me that his trip to Beijing was really unforgettable.

My name is Li Hua．I have the honor of being your guide tomorrow, Now I'd like to give you a brief introduction to our tour．

We’ll meet at the school gate at 8：00 am and set off by bus．As the old Chinese saying goes，“He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man”．The first place we will visit is that world famous spot．When you are standing on the wall，you will feel amazed at this man-made wonder on earth．After two hours there，we’ll leave for a snack street where varieties of foods will be waiting for you to try．The afternoon tour will begin from the Summer Palace at about 2：00 pm．You can take a boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery in the garden and feel free to look around there until 4：00 pm．In the evening，we will watch a wonderful Beijing opera which will let you experience a real Chinese culture．After the show, we’ll return to the school at about 9：00 pm．

I’d like to tell you about a camp called “2016 Chinese Language and Culture Winter Camp”. The camp is organized by Beijing Huaxia University from February 6th to 12th . In the camp they will teach some simple everyday Chinese and how to write Chinese characters. They will also introduce Beijing Opera, Chinese folk music, as well as Chinese painting . The Lantern Festival of this year fell on March 5th.

On that day after school, I hurried back home to join in the preparation of the big family feast. Grandparents taught me how to make sweet dumplings while Dad and Mom made dishes. Then came the grandest dinner time. We all agreed that homemade dumplings tasted much sweeter. We chatted happily, enjoying the family togetherness. After the dinner, we went to the park to appreciate the beautiful lanterns, the highlight of this festival. Two huge dragon lanterns especially amazed us and we couldn’t help flashing our cameras. Walking in the park and admiring the beautiful moon, we felt we were so lucky to have each other as a family and valued the time we spent together.

Last Sunday, I accompanied two of my foreign friends, Tom and Mary, around Beijing so that they could get a feel for the city. For lunch, we tried some Beijing fried sauce noodles. Tom in particular thought that they were delicious. Soon after lunch, we went to Houhai to skate on the frozen lake. Mary skated beautifully while Tom needed my help. We finished off the day by going shopping, and both Tom and Mary bought some paper cuts as souvenirs. It was a fantastic day and I hope they will come back again soon.

Protect Traditional Chinese Culture

The importance of protecting traditional Chinese culture, which is challenged or facing extinction because of the developing society and changing lifestyle. Besides, China is nationwide sparing no efforts to do it.

The protection of national and folk culture is of great significance to Chinese cultural diversity and also to the harmonious development between local economic and social development. It is reported that the Guangdong government pays special attention to protecting Chaoju(潮剧)，

a local drama born in Chaozhou in the eastern Guangdong province.

In my opinion, some measures should be taken to protect traditional culture effectively. To start with, we should make a law to regulate the society’s performance. Besides, we should draw more people’s attention to it, for the more they know about the importance of culture protection, the stronger the support we can get from the public. In a word, it is high time for us to treasure and develop our own valuable culture.

Recently we had a class meeting on the topic of My Chinese Dream. Inspired by President Xi’s Chinese Dream, everyone talked
