Cloning Writing

teaching plan I.写作要求：写作是位于using language (语言运用)部分的，这一部分内容包括“读、讨论和写”，在这一部分，教材提供了一篇有关“恐龙的回归”的阅读材料，讲述了人类自从开始认真进行克隆动物研究以来，一直想要克隆已经绝种的动物，并指出克隆绝种动物的条件，从而得出结论：恐龙的回顾仅仅只是个梦想而已。那么我们这个单元的写作就要求大家讨论一下：1.如果绝种动物群不具备足够的多样性，为什么不应该克隆？2.为什么绝种动物克隆后生活在动物园里是错误的？学生需要阐述自己对克隆的观点并陈述理由。不管是赞成还是反对，都应写出自己的充分理由。这中体裁其实就是我们常说的议论文。写议论文时要有论点，论据，还要有自己的理由，最后得出结论，自己到死支持哪一个观点。

II. 在我们教授写作时，应该先给学生一定的提示，比如说想要表达什么样的意思用什么样的句子。这就要求我们先从单个的句子来讲解，再连句成篇。

例如：想要表达赞成，可以用：

That’s a good idea./ that’s a great idea! 想要表达支持，可以用以下的句子：

I support …because…

Your argument has convinced me because…

I agree with … because…

Your ideas sound very encouraging to me. 想要表达不支持、不赞同可以用下面的句子：

I cannot accept your argument because... I would like to agree with you but …

no ,I can’t agree with …because…

I don’t care for your ideas because …

How can you believe that? No ,that is not reasonable because…

III. writing

You are the reporter on a local newspaper and you have been asked to write an article on this debate .To do this you must mention both sides of the argument .Remember to make a large main heading and then a smaller heading below it .Write aroud 250words .Organize your writing in this way:

Paragraph 1: the topic of the debate and who won.

Paragraph 2: the ideas of the winning side

Paragraph 3: the ideas of the other side

Paragraph 4: conclusion and your reaction to the debate ,together with any ideas you feel they left out .

When you have finished the writing ,show it to your partner for advice and revision .Prepare a revised copy to display in the classroom. IV.写作范文：

Yesterday there was a very exciting debate in my class about whether medical cloning should be allowed or not .After a lively discussion a vote was taken and the side arguing for medical cloning won.

The argument for medical cloning were very strongly put by the team supporting the mention .They argued that serious

illnesses and people who were losing their ability to move or

think could be helped by medical cloning .They explained that

the procedures would be safe ,quick and with no problems of

the patients. They showed that 67%of the people in American

supported it .Their argument were very convincing .

The arguments put by the team opposing medical cloning were less strong. They argued in two ways. Their first reason

was that the potential animal had to be killed to procedures were

not yet secure. Their second reason was that it took many tries

and many potential animals had to be killed to produce one

useable embryo for countries do not allow medical cloning

research because of this. They quoted Pope John Paul II. But

their arguments were not so convincing.

At the end of the debate ,the audience were left with a

feeling of hope. They realized that diseases that seem terrible today may be able to be cured soon. Many people were excited

and happy when they left the hall .The writer of this article was
