一、教学目标：

（2）能熟练运用形容词比较级最高级基本句型进行日常对话

3.情感目标：培养学生对英语学习的兴趣

教师讲解、学生对话、小组比赛、游戏PK

四、教学过程

Warming-up The teacher greets some students to lead in the characters we will know in this lesson. What’s the weather like today? It’s hot. What was the weather like yesterday? It was cool.

2.

Teaching procedures Part 1 ⑴The teacher asks some students to describe our new friends. Today is hotter than yesterday.

Eg. Jack is lovely.

And he loves strawberries. Mary is beautiful.

And Mary loves apples. ⑵Let’s describe our friends in different ways. Jack is tall. Mary is taller than Jack. Mary is short. Jack is shorter than Mary. ⑶Then, the teacher explains the definition and usage of the comparative forms of the adjectives. ⑷Practice 1 A.

There are two rules. The first one is long, and the second one is longer than the first one. If we say the second one is short, then the first one is shorter than the second one. B.

Ann has many pencils.

Bill has more pencils. ⑸

Play a game of the comparative forms of the adjectives.

Part 2 Now, we will meet another friend. He is a famous basketball star. Guess, who is he?(Yao Ming) ⑴

Compare the three persons. Jack is tall.

Mary is taller than Jack.

And Yao Ming is the tallest of them. ⑵The teacher explains the definition and usage of the superlative forms of the adjectives. ⑶Practice 2 A.

There are three rulers. Lily’s ruler is long.

Tom’s ruler is longer than Lily’s ruler. Mary’s ruler is the longest of the three rulers.

The students have finished a test. Ann’s English is good. Bill’s English is better. Linda’s English is the best. ⑷Play a game.

Part 3 Activity 7 Listen and read the dialogue. A: Which city is the biggest, Shanghai, Wuhan or Nanjing? B: Shanghai is the biggest. A: Which is bigger, Wuhan or Nanjing? B: Wuhan is bigger than Nanjing.

Part 4 Game. The teacher asks two students to Pk to find out the comparative forms of some adjectives.

识记常见形容词的比较级和最高级，并仿造Activity 7写一段小对话。
