单元教材分析：

1. 能运用It is …. It has got …. It lives / eats …. Its fur is ….等句型描述动物的特征。

2. 能运用句型Has it got …? Does it live / eat …? Is it …?进行猜测动物的游戏。

3. 能根据听到的、读到的有关动物信息的短文，猜测动物名称。

4. 能听懂、读懂有关kingfisher, black rhino的短文，了解濒危动物的信息，完成选择正确答案、判断句子正误等活动。

5. 能听懂、读懂有关panda 和the South China Tiger 的海报，了解它们的生活习性和生存状态，体验爱护动物的情感。

6. 能在图片的提示下听懂、理解小故事The kingfishers，并在教师的帮助下朗读、表演故事。

学情分析：

本单元需要学生掌握四种濒危动物的名称，基本习性，和面临的生存危机，呼吁人们关爱濒危动物。单元里主要涉及的词汇是动物名词，身体部分的名称，颜色，大小，长短等形容词的运用，涉及的旧句型为：it has got…; 本单元的难点在于四篇短文的理解和朗读；单词量太大，学生掌握非常困难。
