The 1st period Getting ready for the spring outing Sandy: Tom, do you know the time of our spring outing? Tom: Yes. Our class teacher told us yesterday. Sandy: When and where will we go? Tom: We will go to the Shanghai Green Land next Friday. Sandy: How exciting! Most of us want to go there. Let’s get ready for it. What will you take?

Tom: I don’t know yet. Maybe I will take some fruit, water and some pieces of bread with me. What about you? Sandy: I will take some money and a pair of sunglasses. Tom: I will take my sunglasses too, but no money. I hope we can spend a nice day there.

The 2nd period Checking the weather for the spring outing Tony: Tom, we’ll go to the Shanghai Green Land next Friday.

Tom: Yes, I think it will be fun. Tony: What will the weather be like next Friday? Will it be fine? Tom: I don’t know. Let’s surf the Internet and see, shall we?

Tony: A good idea. I will turn on the computer. From the computer: Here is the weather forecast for Shanghai. It will be cloudy and partly rainy from Monday to Wednesday. It will be fine from Thursday to Sunday. The temperatures will be 12 degrees to 18 degrees. It’s great weather for outdoor activities.

Tony&Tom: Hurray! The 3rd period Waiting for another family outing The Wangs like to spend their weekends in the hills. Last week the weather was terrible. It was rainy. They couldn’t go. They waited for another weekend. At last it comes.

It’s Friday afternoon. Mr Wang is in the sitting room. He is listening to the weather forecast on the radio. “… Here is the weather forecast: Most parts of China will be bright and sunny, but very cool for early spring. Shanghai will

be bright and sunny, but very cool for early spring. Shanghai will be cloudy with a little rain sometimes. Zhejiang and Jiangsu will have rain most of the time. It wil be cold…”

It will be rainy again. The Wangs will have to wait for another weekend. What a bad piece of luck!
