Step 1: Lead in

Present an English song: Proud of you. T: There’s a sentence in the song “I can fly. I’m proud that I can fly.” As we all know, birds can fly. Can a man fly?

Step 2: Presentation of new words 1.

Show the pictures of Superman, talk about his abilities, teach new words. 2.

Show the pictures of Eddie and his action, teach new words. 3.

Comic strip: 1) Watch and answer some questions.

2)Act the dialogue out, adding some body languages and

facial experessions. 4.

Present some pictures and talk about different abilities of different people. Practise the sentence structure: can do= be able to do 5.

Pair work: Talk with your partner about your own abilities. 6.

Present some pictures and talk about how to help people in need, teach new words and phrases. 7.

Join the helping-hands club and finish PartA. 8.

Discussion: What are they doing? Why do they do these things? 9.

Present some pictures of children in poor areas and listen to the radio, answer some questions about the conversation. 10.
