Ⅳ. Teaching procedures Step 1. Warm up games Divide the students into 4 groups and ask them to find as many past participles as possible in the reading passage and then write down in the blackboard. Each group is given one minute.

T: Please be careful of some past forms.

Step 2. Analysis and presentation (1)

Check the words students wrote on the blackboard with the whole class together.

Let the students discuss in groups and find out the past participles that were used as the attributes .

Ask a representative to do the presentation about their group finings , giving their analysis in front the class

Step 3. Summary

Summarize the functions of a past participle as an attribute and pay attention their positions-either before or after the noun. (2)

Further the students’ understanding about the past participle being attribute by asking them to replace the past participle with an attributive clause.

Step 4. Consolidation

By doing exercises, let the students have a better understanding of the functions of past participles.
