Teaching aims:

1. To make students be familiar with the topic of this unit and be interested in learning it. 2. To make students get some ideas of the two main types of ads and their respective purposes. 3. To practice students’ oral English by involving them in various class activities. Teaching important point: How to develop students’ speaking ability by expressing their opinions in the activities. Teaching difficult point: How to help students to design an advertisement by using what they have learned in this part. Teaching procedures: Step1. Lead-in 1. Watch a short video and lead in the topic. 2. Answer some questions. (Brainstorming) ①

1. Observe the four posters on Page 1 and try to divide the ads into two types. Two main types of ads:______________________ and _______________________

2. Tell the difference of the two types of ads.

3. Examine the pictures agand complete the dialogues by filling the blanks according to

Poster 1 and 3.

4. Have the students to act out their dialogues according to Poster 2 and 4. Step3. A guessing game

Three groups show their own ads designed before class.Ask other students to guess what

product, service or idea they promote.

Step4.Further Thinking Ask the students to think about the qualities of a good advertisement:
