Step1 Greetings and Lead-in

1. Greet the whole class as usual. 2. Have the Ss enjoy a video about life in the future, and ask the Ss the following questions. (1) What does the video talk about? (2) Why does our life change so quickly? (3) In what ways will our life change in the future?

(possible changes in the future & come up with as many aspects as possible.) Step2 Picture Description

1. Ask the Ss to read the instructions on Page 41 and focus on the four pictures. Ask the Ss the following questions to help them have a better understanding of the pictures. 2. Picture 1: (1) What is the robot doing in this picture? (2) What else can a robot do? (3) Do you think robots can do everything for humans? Why or why not? 教学活动

(4) Do you think you will have a robot at home in the future? 3. Picture 2: (1) Where are the passengers going? (2) Do you believe that one day travelling to the Moon or other planets, like Mars or Jupiter, would be just like travelling to another city? Why or why not? (3) If you had a chance, would you like to fly to the Moon or Mars? 4. Picture 3: (1) What are the people in this picture doing? (2) How old is the man? (3) What do you think a 200-year-old man would look like? Do you think the man in the picture looks that old? (4) Do you think people can live that long in the future? Why or why not? 5. Picture 4: (1) Can you tell where these “people” are working? (2) Can you tell who these “people” are and what they are doing? (3) What problems are the aliens and the people probably talking about? (4) What is the relationship between them? Step3 Discussion

1. Do you think the Moon could be a tourist destination in the future? 2. What jobs do you think a robot could do in the future? 3. What developments in science and technology would you like to see happen in the future? Step4 Assignments

1. Write an article about what our school life will be like in the future on Page 113. 2. Preview the Reading part on Page 42.
