1) Play the photos and recording about the changes of Shanghai.

The changes of my room When I was ten years old, I lived in a small room. There was an old cupboard next to the wall. There was an old table and two old chairs in the room. My bed was small, hard and old. The room was dark. There were no lamps or desks in my room. There was an old radio on the table. After school, I went back home, then listened to the radio and did my homework at the table. Now I have my own bedroom. I like pink best, so my bedroom is pink. There are many adornments(装饰品) in my bedroom. Such as some pictures, a clock, a mirror, some flowers and so on. There is a pink cupboard next to the wall. It’s very nice. There is a pink bookshelf behind the chair. There is a lamp and a computer on the desk. It’s convenient for me to do my homework. My bed is soft. The cushions on the chair are soft too. This room is bright and clean.
Changes in Shanghai It was old Shanghai. Old Shanghai was a small village. Not many people lived here. Look, this was an old aeroplane. There were no taxis, undergrounds in old Shanghai. There were a lot of trams(有轨电车) and tricycles (三轮车) on the road. The traffic was not convenient. This was Nanjing Road. The road was narrow. The
houses were old. This was the bund. It was not beautiful. Over Huangpu River, there were no bridges. People wanted to go to Puxi, they went there by ferry. Look, now Shanghai is a big city. The roads are wide and the buildings are tall. Now there are aeroplanes, trains, buses, taxis, cars and undergrounds... We can choose any kind of traffic. Look at this bridge. It is Nanpu Bridge, the first bridge over Huangpu River in Shanghai. This is Lupu Bridge. It’s famous. Today, many people live in Shanghai. It is very nice and modern.
