1. Warm-up

Greeting: T: Hello, boys and girls. Have you got some friends?

Ss: Yes, we have. T: What are friends? T Shows the PPT and says: They play together. They are friends. They go to school together. They are friends. T: What are pen friends?

SS: They write letters.

T: That’s right. People make friends with e-mails or

letters. They are pen friends.

2. Presentation

1) Watch the video of Module 5 Unit 2 Activity 2 (Listen and read). Choose a child for pen friend. T: There are four children here. Who can be your pen friend? Why?

2) T shows a story-book.

T: This is a story-book. It’s about stories. I like writing stories.

Ss read the word and the sentence.

3) T: I can speak Chinese. Can you speak Chinese? Ss: Yes, we can. T: I can speak English. Can you? Ss: Yes, we can. T: I can speak French. Can you speak French? Ss: No, we can’t. T shows the word card and read: French. Ss read after the teacher. T: Who can speak French in Activity 2? S1: Jim can speak French.

4) T shows a picture of a candy. T: I like candy. Do you like candy?

S2: Yes, I do. Ss read the word and make sentences with “candy”.

3. Practise:

1) Ss read the text after the video. Then read together.

2) Ss make self-introduction cards.

I have got a pen friend. Her name is Lucy. She is from the UK. She is eleven years old. Her father and mother work in New York, so they all live in the US. Her hobby is collecting stamps. She has got lots of stamps. All her Chinese stamps are from my letters. She likes them very much. She can speak some Chinese, but she can't write Chinese. I can speak and write English. So we write to each other in English. She likes traveling and wants to visit China.
