Ask the students to look PPT, show a picture of candles ,ask the student to count “how many candles?” and then show a picture of cake, ask them “ What’s this?” Learn the new words “cake”; Show the word card and teach them.

T: Today is xxx’s birthday, what should we say to him/her? S: Happy birthday!

Play the birthday’ song , and sing it together. Show the word card, and teach them ”Happy birthday!” And “What should we send to him/her?”

Show the word card and teach them “present”. 3. Now Miss Zhang will make a birthday card send xxx, I will divide four groups, and I will give you a card every group, you can choose pen or pencil to

write “Happy birthday” on it, Show the word card , and teach them “pen” , “pencil”, and read the new words together. Practice: Use the projector to show how to make, and then lead into the sentence ”Here’s your cake.”
