Style: Reading 

Introduction:

This passage narrates the problem of the snakes and presents the procedures of catching them and applying for a patent.



Knowledge: 1. Students are supposed to understand the plot of the passage 2. Students should know the stages an inventor must go through by reading materials 

Skills: 1. Students are supposed to master reading skills：skimming and scanning 2. Students experience the way of doing scientific researches

3. Students will be required to use charts or mind map to summarize what they learned from the passage. 

Value: 1.Students are encouraged to be creative and hardworking as well as thinking independently. 2.Students are informed of the scientific methods to solve present problems so that they can not only broaden the horizons but become more skilled in discovering and considering carefully the problems in daily life.
