一、Teaching aims and learning objectives 1. learn about the Palace Museum by reading and listening; 2. finish different tasks with the information they get; 3. make plans for a visit in English. 二、

五、Teaching procedures A : A day at the Palace Museum Step 1 Lead-in Memory game. T: Some exchange students are visiting Sunshine Town. Neil is one of them. He took some photos during the visit. Now I’ll show them to you only once. Can you remember what’s in the photos? Are you ready? Let’s go.

T: What are they doing in the photos? And where are they? T: Well done. You have a good memory. The exchange students have visited some places. But they are still thinking, “What place in Beijing can’t we miss?”

S: The Palace Museum. 【设计意图：通过记忆游戏，让学生迅速进入话题，并引出故宫，为下节了解故宫做好铺垫。】

Step 2 Before-listening 1. Watch a video. Play a video about the Palace Museum foe the students. 2. Have a competition. T: How much do you know about the Palace Museum after watching the video? You will be divided into two groups and have a competition. Let’s see which group knows more about it. (1) Is the Palace Museum square or round? (2) Which palace do you know in it??

(3) What can we see in the palace? 【设计意图：通过抢答游戏，活跃课堂气氛，也让学生对故宫有初步了解。】

3. Learning new words. Show some pictures about the Palace Museum and teach students to read them correctly. 【设计意图：通过图片展示，进一步了解有关故宫的知识并学会正确的读音，为下面的学习扫除障碍。】

Step 3 Listening 1. Read and complete. T: There will be a treasure show in the Palace Museum. Here is a poster of the show. Read the poster and complete part of the table on Page 37. 2. Listen and complete. T: Listen to the guide’s introduction and find out the things to see at the show.

Tips: (1) Get different information each time. For example, find out the things to see first and the time second.

(2) Pay attention to key words.

(3) Write the first letter of the word if time is limited. T: Listen to the introduction again and find out the time to complete the rest of the table.

3. Correct the mistakes in Part A4. 【设计意图：通过阅读海报，让学生完成部分表格。听录音材料时，让学生听两遍，分别填写事情和时间，引导学生有针对性的听录音并获取信息。】

Step 2 Listening 1.

Listen and answer some question What can they do in Beihai Park? When and where will they meet? How far is the park from Neil’s hotel?

2.Read after the tape together. 【设计意图：通过回答问题，训练学生找到听力材料中的关键信息。】

Step 3 Production T: It’s time for you to make a plan for your friends’ visit. Work in pairs. You can use the conversation on the screen as a model. Tips:How to be a good visitor. 【设计意图：通过编对话，操练学生用英语制定出行计划，包括时间、地点、出行方式等，同时对整堂课的内容进行了回顾。同时告诉学生要做一个文明的旅游者。】
