Step1 Review the names of countries and capitals. T: Yesterday, we really had a good time. We almost traveled around the world. Do you still remember the countries we have been to? S: America, Britain, France, Japan, Russia, Thailand --- T: Yes, they are beautiful countries and there are lots of places of interest. Then what about their capitals? Could you help me to match the following table? Have a try!

Introductory remarks to the text. T: Well done! Today, our trip is to the local families to experience their different housing styles. Look! How beautiful they are! (Show the pictures of different types of homes from all over the world. ) But, which one do you prefer? Why? (2)

Ask students to pick out information about what you like and dislike about the homes. (3)

Learn Part B through pictures on the screen and learn some new words.( P10) Step 3 Reading (1)

Fast reading Get the students to read the whole passage as quickly as possible and try to answer the following questions. Whose houses are they? Where does Stephen come from? Where is Madee from? Are their houses the same? (2)Careful Reading Play the tape for the Ss to listen .Show the questions on the screen. Read the passage carefully, the teacher check out whether the students really understand the meaning of the text or not. A/ Questions about Stephen’s home:

Step4 Practice Read aloud the text by finishing a Cloze. Step 5 Explanations

Ask students to listen to the tape again, meanwhile dealing with language points.

Step6 Retell Ask the Ss to retell the passage by giving them some key words
