二、教学流程设计

Step 1 Lead-

Ss: Good morning, …...

T: Sit down, please. OK. Let’s look at the screen. Can you guess what the boy imagines doing?

Ss: The boy imagines...(v-ing). T: Ok, today we’re going to study the grammar: the v.-ing form used as an object in a sentence.

Show the following sentences on the screen: 1. But now, after two weeks, the class really likes

3. There are a few students who keep

coming to class late…

4. I think this is because he really enjoys teaching Chinese literature.

T: What do you notice about the verbs that follow the underlined verbs? S: They are all v.-

T: Can you think of a sentence like this（students can answer freely）

S: I’ve finished reading

S: I appreciate reading

T: Well, we know some verbs can be followed by v.-ing form. Let’s deal with this exercise. Complete the sentences with words from the box. There may be more than one answer. Change

2)Ask students to answer which phrases followed v-ing, then summary like this. feel like; give up; stick to; object to; look forward to; spend time; get down to; have some trouble /difficulty (in) 想要放弃；坚持反对；盼望花时间；开始有困难

Work in groups. Describe your favorite teachers. Try to use at least 5 verbs that can be

followed by v-ing form. Example: Our favorite teacher is Mr. Peng, our Maths teacher. We enjoy his classes very much because he likes telling us some jokes and dislikes giving us too much homework…
