第一部分
听力(共两节,满分
30 分) 1-5 BCBCC 6-10 ABCAB 11-15 BCACA 16-20 ABCBA
听力材料 Example:
Text 2
W: Are you going to leave? It’s already 7:30.
M: No, I am going to wait another 20 minutes.
Text 3
W: Sorry, I have to stay here until someone comes from the phone company to fix my phone.
M: That’s too bad. I wish you could go with us to the movie.
Text 4
W: Can I be back a little late tonight, Dad? Susie is celebrating her birthday downtown.
M: OK, but no later than 11. By the way, how will you get there and come back, then?
W: Her mum will drop me home.
Text 5
M: I need to get a different job.
W: Why?
M: The one I have just doesn’t give me enough hours on my study anymore.
W: Have you tried the library? They’re always looking for help.
Text 6
W: It’s Jane’s birthday today. We are going to the cinema after school. Want to go?
M: After school? I have got to study for the math test tomorrow. When will the film start?
W: At 4:45.
M: I think I’ll stay back in school and do some review, and then I will join you.
W: OK. We’ll get the tickets first. You meet us at Kristy’s Corner a quarter earlier before the film starts. We’ll be having some ice-cream there before the film starts.
M: OK. But I still want to go to the bookstore before the film starts. There is a sale and I’d like to get a book.
Text 7
Text 8
W: Hello, may I help you?
M: Well, my winter vacation is coming up in a few days and I want to take a trip with my wife.
W: Do you want to go abroad?
M: Yeah, I’d like to go to a foreign country. My wife wants to go to any place sunny. We won’t visit Africa, though.
W: How much money would you like to spend on the trip?
M: It’d better not be more than $3,000.
W: I think sunny Florida is a good choice.
M: Florida is not exactly our idea of a great vacation. What about some place a little different where few tourists 英语

go?
W: Then how about Spain or Portugal? Both are sunny and quite relaxing.
M: Spain seems better. I’ll talk to my wife about it and then return.
Text 9
W: No, I’m only interested in flats at the moment.
M: We actually have another office in South Derby, and the guy who works there is a really good friend of mine. His name is John Godfrey.
W: Could you tell me his telephone number?
M: It’s 0742 63951.
W: Great! Is there a good time to call him? I’m here for a whole week until Sunday, 10th.
M: I’m sure he’ll be able to see you on Saturday.
W: That sounds fine. Thanks for your help.
Text 10
W: Oymyakon, in East Russia, is extremely cold. Extremely low temperatures are frequent in Oymyakon, with temperatures going below minus 45oC regularly. Winters are long and cold and often last at least nine months. The summers are much warmer than the winters. Temperatures can rise to 35oC! but then there is the problem of mosquitoes ...
About 2,300 people live in Oymyakon. Life is very much the same as 100 years ago — apart from television. For example, there are no indoor bathrooms and people use ice instead of water from the tap. The valley used to be famous because some of the oldest people in the country lived there. Fiodor Arnsow, Oymyakon’s oldest-ever local people, died in 1967. He was 109. There are about 300 children in the local school. Up until recently, there didn’t use to be any heating in the school. The children did their classes in their coats. These young people dream of having mobile phones, an Internet café and a disco with a CD player that works.
A local businessman, Alexander Krylov, built the town’s first hotel to attract the tourists to the area. Each of the ten rooms has hot and cold water. The most famous visitor until now is the Hollywood actor Ewan McGregor, who visited this place —
in summer of course —
on the back of a motorbike.
